Athenaeum Singers: 'Afterglow' (Thomas Mottershead)

Thomas composed a piece called 'Afterglow' in memory of two of his grandparents, who passed away in September and December 2022. It was performed at both funerals by a Male Voice Choir, originally being scored for TTBB and Piano. For the Athenaeum Singers' Remembrance Concert in November 2023, Thomas rearranged the piece for mixed voices, piano and string quartet.

The text is by Helen Lowrie Marshall and speaks of how one wishes to be remembered when they pass away.

In memory of Alan and Elvene Mottershead (1928 / 1933 - 2022)
