A friendly, amateur choir with an 85-year, long-standing reputation for providing a top quality experience for both audiences and singers.
In November 2023, Thomas started as the new Musical Director of Cheltenham Choral Society, following their 85th Anniversary concert. Thomas takes over from fellow Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama alumni, Alexander Thacker, and will be only the fifth conductor in the choir's 85-year history.
Thomas' first concert with the choir will be a Christmas concert with St. Mary's Prestbury and the Beauregard Academy on Monday 18th December, before conducting the choir (alongside Charlton Kings Choral Society) in a performance of Haydn's 'Thereseinmesse' and Mozart's 'Requiem', with full orchestra at Tewkesbury Abbey on 25th May 2024.
For the choir's next concert, we will be performing with Charlton Kings Choral Society, another choir based in Cheltenham. Two major works will be performed - Joseph Haydn's Theresienmesse, along with W. A. Mozart's incredible Requiem, which Thomas will be conducting. The concert will be on Saturday 25th May 2024 in the equally beautiful Tewkesbury Abbey.
Tickets will be on sale soon.
In Thomas' first concert with the choir, they performed a Christmas Concert alongside the Beauregard Academy and St. Mary's CofE Primary School, Prestbury, on Monday 18th December 2023 in Pittville School.
